    Default Demat Account Service Charges.

Almost all Global Banks/Financial institutions are looking to expand their financial services to have diversified income base.So they are offering more value added services. One of them is Stock trading .To trade in stocks, you need a Demat Account.you have to pay a certain amount of fee annually as service charges. In India it is nearly $4 to $5 in almost all Banks(Government and private) and financial institutions.
What's the fee in your country?

I have two Demat Accounts and I use both of them for trading and investment purpose. The Annual maintenance charge is not the same in both of my Demat Accounts. One broker charge $3 annually where as the other charges $4.5.
I think it is too high as brokers are already charging certain percentage of our transaction/turnover as brokerages. So the Annual Demat Account service charge is not justified.
