They are working with a Swiss bank to issue the debit cards but so far there is no information available about it. I will post here once we know more.

There is nothing we would like more than to be able to tell you that the Debit Card is available now. Unfortunatly we can't, we got the below information from the bank yesterday, so there is hope that they soon successfully have integrated the new Swiss debit card.

We have set a firm deadline for next Friday and will be starting with a new provider at that point if the program is not active.

However, we've been assured numerous times by the Swiss that it will be completed. Unfortunately the timeline is out of our hands. We have applied as much pressure as possible, but the operational delays lie in Switzerland.

Of course, clients are welcome to use our current card program if they are pressed. We have many clients using this to satisfaction.

I will keep you appraised of the progress.

Well here is a little information about the current card and the Swiss / Caribbean Debit Card:

The current card has two flaws, which we feel will not be scalable to a significantly larger base of clients. The first is that the card requires a manual reload. This means that someone at our office has to actually authorize the fill request ever time a client is looking to put money on the card. At this point, we are quite proficient at doing so and clients seem happy with the turnaround. However, we feel that operationally a card that has automatic reloading will be much more efficient. The new card is also issued by a Swiss provider, while our current card is from the Caribbean. These are likely more secure and clients seem to feel more comfortable with Switzerland. Finally, the new card will have reduced costs for clients on a monthly basis. Both the monthly maintenance fee and general transaction costs are all about half as expensive with the new program.

All in all, we are confident that we will have a new card in due course, the question is how long. As a previously mentioned, it should have been completed a couple weeks ago, but unforeseen delays have extended the process. For now, anyone in urgent need of a card is using our Caribeean program and we have seen no complaints or issues with it's structure, other then the previously mentioned ones.
