Copying contents from other sites!Is it legal?

friends,
i was thinking of collecting some quotes and use some contents from some sites that i have come across and somewhat like and is interested in putting it up at my site after a little redoing and might even of course keep the exact original author and text.
So was wondering if can i go about and copy quotes from internet from other people site which only shows quotes and lets their visitor quote on their own..
for example like sad-quotes.com.. can i copy their quotes and show it on my site.. with keeping the original author name??

You should take prior permission from the parent site before publishing the contents in your own sites. Alternatively you can also display the quotes along with the author's name in your website. But publishing your own contents are the best option.
