I just got informed by a processor that if we exceed our chargeback ration we can risk to get our merchant account terminated and get listed on the TMF list / Match list, now I wonder is it that bad?
What it the TMF list or Match list?
Anyway, if they should do so, I will just apply for an merchant account by one of all the other solutions out there.
PS: I also found this website, looks scary and like a ripoff USA Base Processor Accept | TMF Merchant | Match | Terminated Merchant File | Terminated Merchant Account
If you got on the TMF list it is only hardly to get off it again, you should make sure not to risk to be listed. Many merchants have problems today because they are on the TMF/Match list.
FYI : You won't be able to apply for a merchant account anywhere if you are listed, all acquiring banks will have access to the list and if a merchant is listed there, they will refuse to make any business with the merchants, only in a handful of cases we have seen that it still was possible, but this was with huge corporations which have a great track record and just got on the TMF / Match list because of the payment processor failed.

Don’t let your business be put in the position to where the TMF website above makes sense!
With your current issue, please be very careful with handling it. Raised voices and misunderstanding phone calls can lead to a terminated account.
Ask the processor to help you with chargeback’s. Have the processor review your policy and procedures in hopes of reducing chargeback’s. They might be able to spot where the business is weak in protecting itself and help shore it up.
Chargeback’s can put any successful business out of business very quickly!
Good Luck!
