Lightbulb Marijuana seeds creditcard processing impossible

Hi i live in Holland where selling/buying marijuana seeds is perfectly legal by law.
However we cannot get a bank / payment processor or merchant account provider to aprove creditcard processing for our site

We have a Panama registered company with a connected bank account, but it seems to be impossible to find a solution for credit card processing on our site.

However im sure it can be done: There are many online seedbanks / cannabis seed companies selling online and accepting creditcard payments.

Does anyone know a way for this??

Welcome aboard, I believe the companies you find and which are accepting credit cards as payment for this stuff are hiding behind a aggregated account or some 3rd party billers or even may split their volume to several accounts in order to keep under the radar of Visa and Mastercard.

It will be very difficult ro find any credit card processor who will be able to offer this service and last for a long term, in the many years I have been following the payment industry I have so far never seen a solution which last for more than 10 to 12 months while they were processing for such like as well as Pharmacy business and other ilegal stuff.

Can only admit with tax-haven, you won't find any reliable credit card processor for this type of business, the few that are able to take this or at least say they can and probably also will take on your business, will try to make some additional income on your business, most are freezing the account once it has sufficient funds.

Not sure how you may be able to solve this, but you will need to take a high risk yourself in losing all your earnings if you go for any processor, some companies selling those drugs taking this into consideration and even calculate on it since they make money even if they lose 50% of it..... not a way I would go to make a living.

    Default How

Then how are all these sites doing it?
If you search marijuana seeds or marijuana seed bank, you will find 100's of sites that offer CC processing.. Surely there must be some way!?

How about China? no possibilities there?
Any help would be greatly apreciated!

You will need to hide it through a 3rd party processor or find a bank in the country where this stuff is allowed... as already mentioned in this thread, be careful since many of the 3rd party billers out there will like nothing freeze your account and keep your money to spend on the next holidays.

    Hi,
    First message
As far as I know, no NL bank will say yes.
But, some billng companies have special relationships with banks and can sometime get you a reliable and somehow legal billing for your business (as long as you're in holland).
I have search through my email to find the name of this NL company, I keep you posted.

    Hi Blueweb.
I know a billing company in Holland which is ok to bill this kind of content. Actually, they are already providing billing for a few cannabis seeds online shops.
The owner explained that whereas dutch banks officially decline some businesses, they can accept them though if introduced through a partner they are used to work with.
Nevertheless rate is high (> 10%) and I doubt as said previously that such a solution can last forever...

Btw, the owner of this dutch billing company doesn't want to be publicly linked to this kind of product. Therefore, I cannot give it on this board, sorry.

    Thanks for your messages all.

Im still continueing my search in finding a reliabale payment processor ( 3rd party processor if i must)
But until now even all 3rd party processors where i applied turned my business down.
This is very frustrating ( especially since this business is considered perfectly legal in my country)

If anyone has any advise i would be glad to know!
    thanks,

To Clemens. The question is not about payment processor but VISA/MC rules.
Cannabis seeds are legal in holland therefore dutch banks have full rights to open a merchant account for merchants selling those goods.
The only trouble is that this businesses (just like many others in fact) are in VISA/MC's bad books. Merchant accounts used to bill these products are closed down under VISA/MC pressure alleging "brand damaging behavior".
Nevertheless, in that case merchants would be totally entitled to sue the CC networks but hey... who does that ?
