Credit card processing

Hi,

We currently use PAYPAL for the processing of CC for our web business. We used them as it was pretty quick and easy for a start up business. However, 12 months on, we are becoming increasingly concerned about costs generally from them and am starting to look at other companies to get an idea of whats available

1. Who do people use
2. What do they charge you for processing ?
3. How much 'technical' work is needed to integrate into an exisiting website (ie is it going cost me £££s for web development as well ?)

Just to answer this thread and to help you, then I think it depends much on where you live and in which country your company is located.

1) Many people use PayPal and they are satisfied with it, but a good alternative is 2co which also is free in setup and monthly fee but still have a high processing rate,

2) The processing fees depends on the Payment Processor and Acquiring bank you are goind to use and of course where your business is located, for instant in the US you can become processing very cheap, they have authorize.net which is one of the largest payment gateways for US citizens and it is almost free.

3) For the major payment gateway's you will be able to find plug in's which let you integrate a new payment gateway within seconds, just go for the bigger payment gateway provides and avoid the small ones if you want it easy.
